I really enjoy the new guest chef on board now. His name is George Geary. He has written about 6 cookbooks with two more coming out this summer and fall. He has an interesting background with his main emphasis on baking (he loves chocolate and raspberries!). He now does cooking tours in France and Italy. In May he is taking a group to southern France for a week where they will do cooking daily with French chefs, tour with him, and stay at Julia Child’s old house! He has wonderful stories and is most entertaining. This morning I went to a coffee chat with him and learned all this about him. [Every at sea day they have a coffee chat with someone from the ship – an officer, a guest speaker/chef, etc. – not passengers!] Oh yes! He is coming to the Publix Aprons School in Sarasota at the end of April Will keep you posted on date as soon as I know. I hope I’m home for it!
Bridge followed that and then a cooking demo by the two head chefs from the chef. They made two African dishes – Peri Peri and Lamb Bobotie. I have the recipes. They were both good.
Not much else to report – just read, etc. and went to meals! And, we lost another hour today!
