The only time I could listen to yesterday’s speaker was at 10 a.m., so I gave up bridge to watch her on TV. It was well worth it – Doug was right! She was great.
I went to the cooking demo with our ship’s chefs since they were doing Szechwan Stir-fry veggies and sweet and sour chicken (which I have really liked on this ship.) Got the recipes and tasted the chicken. All good.
Lunch was a treat today. We dined in the Pinnacle Grill with the ship’s Hotel Manager we had met at the Captain’s dinner and his wife (whom we had not met) and the couple we dined with then as well. We had had so much fun that night, we wanted to get together again. And it was fun---again. We spent two hours eating and talking non-stop. And lunch was excellent.
Had to set our clocks forward an hour again, so now it was 3 p.m. when we finished lunch – just in time for afternoon tea. I would not have normally gone, but it was an Indian tea, so I wanted to try it.
It was not that great. I don’t like the little Indian desserts and there was no special tea, but I did enjoy meeting more people at my table.
Dinner was our Indian Dinner Night in the Pinnacle Grill (we signed up for many of their ethnic dinner nights.) Everyone dressed in their Indian attire to go with the Indian decor. Doug enjoyed the food, I didn’t think it was that great. The main courses were served in little bowls on a big plate, and if you tried to use a fork and knife, the rice went sliding off your plate! Can’t include pictures because they came out too dark! We sat with 4 other people, but you would have thought there was only one woman at our table because she did ALL the talking and no listening!
After dinner we went to the late show to see Larry Hagman – the man who played J.R., the star of the TV series Dallas, as well as the star of I Dream of Jeannie. Many people were excited about his being on board, but we thought he just seemed kinda tired and old. He’s now 78.
And while he did show some funny outtakes, he mainly showed pictures of his 25,000 foot home. Maybe if we had watched his shows, we would have enjoyed it more. He talked a lot about money and wanting more – kind of like his character J.R.!!!
It was another good day – many hours of which were spent in the Pinnacle Grill!
