[Happy 33rd Birthday, Ted and Rob!!]
Not much happened today. Bridge at 10 a.m. and then Doug and I went to hear a new speaker, Joe Kess, discuss the “Emergence of Modern China: From Mao to Now.” He was a good speaker and gave a very quick overview of China’s history and politics. He will go into more detail in future talks. It was a good review for us.
I worked on my Blog and e-mails and then picked up the new book for the Amsterdam book club. It is Gardens of Water by Alan Drew. It is fiction, takes place in Turkey, and is about two families – an American and a Kurdish family- and about how they interact. So far, it is very engaging.
Went to see the movie “Did you Hear about the Morgans?” last night. Laughed a lot.
A good, uneventful day!
