Left Sarasota at 9:30 a.m. in our rented car for the Miami airport. It took us about 3 1/2 hours. We held our breaths as we “weighed in” (our luggage!!) and we were right on the dot – 50 lbs each. We were told that our carry on could be no more than 18 pounds, but they never even checked that.
We flew on Lufthansa from Miami to Munich, Germany. It was about a 10 hour flight, leaving Miami at 4 p.m. and arriving in Munich at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 1st. The airlines served dinner and breakfast before arriving in Munich. Left Munich at 8:55 a.m. and arrived in Athens, Greece at 12:20 p.m. Both flights were fine – we slept most of the first one.
